Matt joined the group in 2021 as a Part II working on synthetic methods to engineer defects in LDHs for use as electrocatalysts in the splitting of water. He is now studying for his DPhil at Wadham College and will be looking to continue in his work studying LDHs as effective electrocatalysts for water splitting, funded by SCG Ltd.
Matt has a strong interest in environmental chemistry and finding clean-energy solutions. Outside the lab, Matt coaches and plays hockey for the University and enjoys wild swimming, kayaking and mountaineering.
