About SCG

Founded in 1913 by King Rama VI, Siam Cement Group now rebranded as SCG commenced operation as the first cement manufacturer in Thailand. SCG is one of Thailand’s most reputable and leading business conglomerates in the ASEAN region.  Since its founding, SCG has committed itself to conducting business in line with good corporate governance and sustainable development principles throughout its 110 years of business. It has grown continually and diversified into four core businesses, namely Cement-Building, Materials BusinessChemicals BusinessPackaging Business, and Investment Business.

In 2021, SCG had consolidated sales of US$16 billion. At the end of June 2016, SCG had a total workforce of +54,000 employees, of which a third are located across the ASEAN region.

To elevate the quality of life today and pass on a better world for future generations, SCG takes its duties and responsibilities toward growing business alongside building a strong society and sustainable environment seriously. The Company has incorporated the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) framework into its business operations at the national, ASEAN, and international levels and collaborated with all sectors to push forward the ESG 4 Plus target developed by SCG, encompassing “Set Net Zero - Go Green - Reduce Inequality - Embrace Collaboration” with adherence to fairness and transparency. Moreover, as announced by their board of directors and senior management teamthe message from the Group is that it is committed to achieving the Net Zero target in 2050 by increasing the proportion of alternative energy and investment in deep technologies.

About SCG Chemicals Public Co. Ltd

SCG  Chemicals  Public Co. Ltd.  (SCGC)  is a  wholly-owned subsidiary of  The  Siam  Cement Public Company Limited (SCG). Starting with the Polyethylene plant in  1989,  SCGC has expanded and become a key industry leader in the Asia-Pacific region with integrated world-scale upstream,  intermediate,  and downstream operations in  Map  Ta Phut,  Rayong  Province.

SCGC develops technology and innovation towards HVAs in infrastructure, consumable packaging, mobility, medical and well-being, and energy solutions. Each of SCGC’s product lines is operated as a separate business unit, several of which are managed through joint ventures with Thai and multi-national partners, including global petrochemical companies, namely Dow Chemical Company of the United States (for LLDPE plant), Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. of Japan and Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd. of Japan.

Additionally, SCGC operates other businesses connected to our primary business, including SCGC Floating Solar Solutions, clean energy solutions, emisspro® coating solutions for industrial furnaces, and many more. The chemical innovations developed by SCGC are pragmatic and applicable to daily lives and include innovations with industrial applications.

In 2022, SCGC committed to conducting business in accordance with its mission of sustainable development:

  • achieve a low-carbon and environmentally friendly society by 2030
  • reach the target of zero carbon emissions by 2050
  • reduce water consumption by 5% by 2025

SCGC has specific ESG targets to set company directions and goals, with a significant emphasis on caring for the environment, society, and governance, as well as SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). With ESG-based business direction, SCGC will realize its long-term goal of becoming a 'Chemicals Business for Sustainability', achieving 1 million tons per year of green polymer volume by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050 to help mitigate the effects of global warming, benefiting society and communities with a passion for a better world.
