Dr Tomasz Kondratowicz

SCG Post Doctoral Research Fellow

Dr Tomasz Kondratowicz joined the group in December 2022 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate founded by SCG Chemicals.

He defended his doctoral thesis in 2020 at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow on effective catalysts for the total oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) under the supervision of prof. Piotr Kustrowski. In the years 2020-2022, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the group of prof. Libor Capek at University of Pardubice in Czech Republic. There, he worked in the area of solid basic and redox catalysts based on novel core@shell architectures contain layered double hydroxides (LDHs) as the shell. Moreover, he focused on formation hollow spheres via implemented template removal process as well as verified potential of such materials in aldol condensation, Guerbet reaction and environmental catalysis (NH3-SCR, NH3-SCO).

In Oxford, he is working on the fabrication of functional LDH-based core@shell hybrid materials for carbon capture and utilization.

Away from the lab he enjoys travelling and play a chess.
